There was a problem filtering reviews right now. Denon, please fix this!!! I loved the idea that it was fully automatic because the convenience factor is very nice.
It comes with everything you need to get going without needing to go out and replace anything immediately like the cartridge for example. I bought this to replace a gifted turntable that is known to cause damage to vinyl records. I wanted to get something that didn’t cost an arm and a leg dejon would still provide me with a good experience. The first few listening sessions I had with this turntable were a joy. I loved watching it whir into place and slowly drop the needle and then whir back out of place and shut off when it was done.
It was a fun sight to see and gave me happiness that I wouldn’t need to worry about dropping the tone arm in the right place and keeping an eye on the player to shut it off when it hits the run out groove.
I hooked this up to a pair of Presonus Ceres 3. I definitely noticed denkn bump in sound quality over the crappy player I was previously ddnon which got me even more excited to enjoy my records. All of a sudden out of the blue, I noticed that the playback speed kept changing drastically while I would listen to any record on this player.
At first I chocked it up to the possibility of a misaligned belt, but after reseating the belt multiple times, no matter what I did the issue would come back. This is the second belt driven turntable I’ve had that has given sp-300f issues like this so now I have a really sour taste in my mouth for belt driven turntables.
After doing some more review reading and searching on this player I came to the conclusion that this is a known issue. So, unfortunately I returned this for a full refund. I don’t know if Denon isn’t listening or what the deal is but this is obviously a problem and they need to correct it accordingly if they want people to buy this product.
It really is a shame because I loved everything about this player and I am saddened to see it go. Didn’t make it through two records before there was an obvious variation of speed and pitch throughout each song.

I’m not being overly dramatic. I wanted the dnon return feature. That feature works well. After 6 albums, a mix of old and brand new, with every single song on every single album sounding like a warbling bird, I’m done.

Just wanted to post my awful experience with this player and Denon support. I purchased this player as my entry level into vinyl. I was told by many people that Denon made a good entry player that was reasonable for the money.
I purchased this player and then started receiving and purchasing vinyl from stores and friends around denn area.
Thie player had a total of about 1 hour play time before I experienced sporadic slow down. I knew it could not be the belt because it was a brand new player but checked it out and replaced it anyway. When I called Denon support they took me through a checklist to make sure everything on the player was set up properly.
After determining that everything was configured they gave me the only option which was to send denonn player to an Authorized Denon Service Center.
I wasn’t too happy about sending it at my cost to a service center but at least I figured it would be handled properly and be a done deal. After sending it out to the service center I called 2 weeks later to check the status and there was a message they were on vacation for a few more weeks.
Eventually they service center had this player for a total of 5 weeks. They eventually called me and told me that there had to be a motor replacement on the unit and they were on back order from Denon. The technician told me there must be multiple issues with the motors in these units.
At this point I still didn’t care as long as it worked when it was returned. When I received the turntable a few days later it looked as if someone dropped it. The side of the unit had mutiple scratches and to top it off the turntable had so much resistance that it wouldn’t spin The box was not dp-30f at all or looked like it was even dropped. Rather then contact the service center I called Denon to denpn my frustrations.
I felt they should hold their authorized service centers to higher standards and obligations to the consumer. The customer service representative listened to my frustrations and was very sympathetic.
