I loved their interactions, their flirting, their are we just friends one minute and maybe more the next. When reading this book it was like my nose was glued to the book, I started it in the afternoon and finished that evening, and that almost never happens for me! After all, a gorgeous guy like Tyler would never fall for his smart-talking best friend.

I loved the premise for this book, shy woman dresses up for a costume party in a costume that no one can recognize her in, she has a very HOT interaction with a man she’s always had a crush on and then makes a run for it before he can find out it is her. Very well written, and so sweet I just might need to read it again. Disappointed though I was, this will not tarnish my love for Lori Foster. This book reminded me why I love them so much. After all, a gorgeous guy Grade school teacher Carlie McDaniels trades in her frumpiness for the look of an exotic harem girl, at least for one costume party. Instead, she has a best and only friend who dresses her like a ho, when she knew or least should have known, this was too much for her, she has a bestie’s husband who gets snide because she’s essentially afraid of marriage, she has a pest who steamrolls her into way more relationship than she’s ready for and goes off on her when he finds out she was the girl hiding, yes; hiding, in the pool house, then, after listening to her describe a marriage that fortunately didn’t involve bruises or broken bones but hell, a husband that, for want of a better word, raped her on a regular basis, gets his tighty whities in a knot because she doesn’t want to get married.

Instead of acting like a mature adult and confessing, she keeps him at arms length but the guy is so engaging that they become friends. The male lead is annoying. In fact, it’s her program that Tyler will be working at, and they will be forced to work side-by-side with each other. He was obsessed with a mystery woman — and fascinated by prickly Carlie McDaniels.

CD Audiobook 0 editions. When shy repressed Carlie shares a passionate night with Tyler, bu knows it was a one time thing. I somehow missed this early Foster book, possibly because I have a tendency to skip Harlequin books. Short, fun, kind of cute and in many ways real.

As they get to know each other, all the while Carlie is trying to keep her distance because she knows he’ll never fall for flster and because she doesn’t want a relationship, been there, done that and all, they begin to care for one another to the point Tyler no longer wants to know who the mystery girl is.


The middle of the story was very good and entertaining, so much so, that I finished it in one late night reading. Carlie is a teacher and hides herself in frumpy, baggy clothing. Carlie is always fighting her feelings for Tyler. Then Tyler takes Short, fun, kind of cute and in many ways real.

Anyway it’s a very cute story about not judging a book by it’s cover and acceptance.

After a few days – and his getting yelled at a bit by his brother and sister-in-law who express concern that the h will retreat into her shell again, he goes back and she reveals how her marriage was. But this is a romance novel and eventually all is sorted out. Carrie was annoying, and Tyler wasnt much better and the things he said to her.

And that he fell impeguous her how she was, frumpy clothes imletuous he really didn’t like and all. Everything gets started at a Halloween party where Tyler and Carlie end up spending the night together. Somehow she doesn’t take it personally and allows him to steamroll her. So this was definitely more descriptive in the love making than I’m used to.
